Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will take place at Seol on July 26.

South Korean tech giant Samsung’s much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked is just around the corner. Ahead of the semi-annual event, Samsung Electronics’ President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business – TM Roh – confirmed that the company’s latest foldable smartphones Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 could get thinner designs than their predecessors.

“We’ve raised the standards for foldable smartphone ergonomics. A difference of millimeter in a device’s thickness may not sound like a big change, but every gram and millimeter in a foldable device requires an engineering breakthrough. It demands craftsmanship with passion. When done well, the benefit to users is huge. That’s why we’ve innovated to make our latest foldables slimmer and lighter than our previous generations,” Roh said in a blog Tuesday.

Apart from the long-rumored, next-generation foldable smartphones Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, the company is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Tab S9 series. Roh’s blog also hinted at the additional products. “Samsung Galaxy Tab and Wearables are designed in the same spirit. They work with each other harmoniously in an ecosystem that opens up a powerful connected experience, serving as a seamless extension of your needs, priorities and unique personality,” he wrote.

The Galaxy Unpacked will take place at Seol on July 26. For the first time ever, the event will be held in the company’s home country South Korea. The bi-annual event Galaxy Unpacked is organized by Samsung to unveil and showcase the company’s latest products and innovations including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other consumer electronics.

In its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2023 in February, the tech company announced the launch of the Galaxy S23 smartphone series – the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Galaxy S23+, and the Galaxy S23 and also unveiled the Galaxy Book3 Ultra, the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360, the Galaxy Book3 360, and the Galaxy Book3 Pro.
