Production on The Batman – Part II is slated to begin next year, with Colin Farrell’s character set to play a pivotal role. Reeves hinted that the upcoming The Penguin series, a spin-off exploring Cobblepot’s rise to power, will directly influence the events of the sequel. The series, which premieres on Max in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK later this year, is set just a week after the events of the first film.

Farrell’s return to the role has generated immense excitement among fans. The actor expressed his enthusiasm for delving deeper into the character’s complex journey. “The world Matt Reeves created is a playground for Oswald Cobblepot,” Farrell said.

With the The Penguin series serving as a bridge between the two films, expectations are high for the sequel. Fans can anticipate a darker, more intricate exploration of Gotham City as Cobblepot’s influence grows. The Batman – Part II is scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2026.
