The Dynamic Island feature comes in iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Apple is allowing third-party developers to create games and experiences around the new feature called the Dynamic Island that was introduced in the high-end models of the iPhone 14 series.
One app developer Kriss Smolka created a Pong-style game called ‘Hit the Island’ wherein users get to bounce a ball between the paddle and the Dynamic Island to earn points. Smolka wrote on Twitter that the game is still laggy but it’s turning out nice.
According to the game’s App Store Preview, it is “as simple as it sounds, Hit The Island with the ball and score points. But wait, there is a catch! The ball speeds up. It can get cloned. Then the paddle shrinks!?”
Another developer named Christian Selig of Apollo app for Reddit created a fun option to add a pixelated pet on the iPhone 14’s new feature. “I added a cat that lives up there like a tamagotchi and just hangs out and does cute stuff as you browse Reddit in my app (Apollo),” Selig tweeted.
The Dynamic Island feature, which comes in iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, is a pill-shaped cut-out on the center that moves around, animates, and shows notifications. The American multinational tech giant launched the new smartphone series at the ‘Far Out’ event on September 7.
