Microsoft Surface Laptop 5, Surface Pro 9 launched in India: Key details

Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Pro 9 are available for pre-order in the country and will go on sale from November 29. Both devices can be bought from select online and offline stores. The India launch comes after the American multinational tech giant unveiled the devices last month at its annual Surface Event 2022.

 

Surface Laptop 5

 

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 comes in two sizes: 13.5 inches and 15 inches. The base model of the 13.5-inch variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and an Intel Core i5 12th Gen processor starts at Rs 1,07,999. The top-end model of the 13.5-inch variant with 16GB RAM + 512GB storage is packed with Intel Core i7 12th Gen processor and starts at Rs 1,78,999.

 

Talking about the 15-inch display variant, both it’s base and top-end models come packed with an Intel Core i7 12th Gen processor. The base model of the 15-inch variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage starts at Rs 1,39,999 and the high-end variant with 16GB RAM + 512GB storage starts at 1,88,999.

Sleek, thin, and lightweight are some of the adjectives used for the laptop, which is claimed to have all-day battery life. Both the laptop variants support Dolby Vision IQ, 10-point multi-touch, Surface Pen, and Windows 11. During the annual launch event in October, the smaller variant of the laptop was unveiled in four color options: Platinum, Matte Black, Sage, and Sandstone, while the 15-inch model was unveiled in Platinum and Matte Black color options.

 

Surface Pro 9

 

The Microsoft Surface Pro 9 starts at Rs 1,05,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant. With various storage options, the tablet goes up to Rs 2,69,599 for the top-end 32GB RAM + 1TB storage variant.

 

In terms of processor, the tablet comes in two variants: Intel’s 12th Gen Core processor and Microsoft SQ 3 5G processor co-created in partnership with Qualcomm. In India, however, models with Intel processors are only available for pre-order as of now. Microsoft claims up to 15.5 hours of battery life for the tablet with an Intel processor, while the variant with SQ 3 5G processor is expected to run for up to 19 hours. Both variants have Windows 11. The touchscreen, a 13-inch lightweight tablet can also be used as a laptop. Users can sign, sketch, or navigate with the Surface Slim Pen 2 and the Surface Pro Signature Keyboard.

 

The variant with an Intel processor comes with 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB RAM options, along with storage options of up to 1TB. The Microsoft SQ3 variant comes with 8GB and 16GB RAM options along with storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
