Lamborghini has broken new ground by launching its first-ever super sports car and High-Performance Electrified Vehicle with V12 hybrid plug-in, the Revuelto. This latest addition to the Lamborghini family is a testament to the brand’s unwavering commitment to staying true to its V12 DNA, while still pushing the boundaries of design and engineering.
Drawing inspiration from aerospace layouts, the Revuelto boasts a range of sleek and intentional styles that are both visually striking and functionally efficient. The car’s sculpted surfaces are surrounded by two lines that begin at the front, wrap around the cabin and engine, and then narrow down to the hexagonal-shaped exhausts, creating an aerodynamic masterpiece.
The Revuelto’s exterior design is a true reflection of Lamborghini’s futuristic vision, with the monolithic carbon-fiber hood featuring a shark-nose part that falls in sync with the headlamp clusters. The side fins, located behind the front wheel arches, direct airflow around the sides, complementing the concavities of the doors. The back of the car pays homage to the V12 series of the company, with the totally exposed engine serving as the mechanical heart of the vehicle.
The Revuelto’s interior is a perfect blend of digital and physical experiences, creating a cockpit that offers an unmatched level of balance for both daily driving and track performance. The 8.4″ vertical touchscreen is housed in a carbon-fiber profile with a space-ship shape, positioned at the visual center of the interior.
Lamborghini has taken the concept of shared driving experience to new heights with the Revuelto, where the driver and co-driver can simultaneously view the same information on the dashboard. This is made possible by the car’s 12.3-inch digital display on the driver’s side and a 9.1-inch display on the passenger’s side. With the innovative ‘swipe’ function, drivers can switch between applications and pieces of information, allowing for a seamless and uninterrupted driving experience.
The Revuelto boasts three electric motors and a double-clutch gearbox, making it the first 12-cylinder Lamborghini to feature this powerful combination. Lamborghini has turned to carbon fiber as the foundation of the car, utilizing artisanal techniques to create a lightweight yet durable frame. The use of lightweight materials has contributed to the car’s best weight-to-power ratio yet, ensuring the ultimate driving experience.
Lamborghini has pushed the boundaries of performance, sportiness, and driving enjoyment with the Revuelto, creating a new paradigm in automotive design. The car’s high-efficiency aerodynamics and novel carbon-frame concept combine with its innovative architecture and creative design to produce an output of 1001 hp, making it a force to be reckoned with on the road.
Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s Chairman and CEO, believes that the Revuelto is a milestone in the history of the company and an important part of its electrification strategy. He describes the car as “faithful to our DNA”, citing the V12 as an iconic symbol of Lamborghini’s super sports heritage and history. According to Winkelmann, the Revuelto was designed to “break the mold”, combining a new 12-cylinder engine with hybrid technology to deliver the perfect balance between performance and reducing emissions.
