ChatGPT Plus

OpenAI’s generative artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT has reportedly recorded a staggering 14.6 billion visits in just ten months, from September 2022 to August 2023. This phenomenal figure represents a dominant 60% of the total 24 billion visits generated by the top 50 AI tools in the same period, as per data analyzed by Writerbuddy.ai using SEMrush.

Launched in November 2022, ChatGPT’s impact on the AI industry has been nothing short of revolutionary, averaging 1.5 billion visits per month. Its nearest competitor, Character AI, another AI chatbot, trailed significantly with 3.8 billion visits over the year. QuillBot AI, a writing tool, and Bard, a chatbot by Google, also made it to the top spots with 1.1 billion and 241 million visits, respectively, in the same timeframe.

This trend highlights the growing global interest in AI technologies, with chatbot tools alone attracting over 19.1 billion visits. The United States leads the pack in AI usage with approximately 5.5 billion users, followed by India with 2.1 billion, and Indonesia with 1.4 billion. European countries collectively accounted for 3.9 billion visits.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT has taken the world by storm since its launch in November last year. Short for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, ChatGPT is a popular AI text generator and has been a center of attention for many due to its human-like response. Its success is a testament to its user-friendly interface and versatile capabilities, which garnered one million users within five days of its launch. This surge contributed significantly to the AI industry’s growth, which saw a 10.7-fold increase in traffic over the year.

The top ten AI tools, including MidJourney, Hugging Face, Novel AI, Capcut, Janitor AI, and Civit AI, have varied traffic figures, reflecting the diverse range of AI tools gaining traction globally. Notably, the traffic data for these tools varies as many were launched within the year. However, it’s not all growth and dominance for every AI tool. Some, like Craiyon, Midjourney, and Quillbot, experienced a decline in traffic, despite their high rankings.
