Reliance Jio Launches JioTag, an Affordable Bluetooth Tracker like Apple’s AirTag

JioTag

Reliance Jio, a leading telecommunications company in India, has introduced JioTag, a Bluetooth tracker that aims to provide users with an accessible and affordable solution for tracking their personal belongings. This new device, similar to Apple’s AirTags, utilizes Bluetooth connectivity to establish a connection with users’ smartphones, enabling them to locate items to which the tracker is attached. With a significantly lower price tag, JioTag offers a compelling alternative to its competitors.

Priced at Rs. 2,199 according to its listing on Jio.com, JioTag is currently available for a discounted price of Rs. 749. Customers can choose between cash-on-delivery at select pin codes or prepaid orders for delivery. The lightweight tracker comes in a sleek white color and includes an extra battery and a lanyard cable, enhancing its ease of use.

JioTag boasts impressive specifications and features. Powered by a replaceable CR2032 battery, the device offers a battery life of up to one year, ensuring long-lasting functionality. Utilizing Bluetooth v5.1 connectivity, users can securely connect JioTag to their smartphones. With its compact size and weight of 9.5 grams, the tracker can easily be attached to various personal items, including wallets, handbags, and even pets’ collars.

The tracker provides a tracking range of up to 20 meters indoors and up to 50 meters outdoors, allowing users to locate their belongings with ease. Additionally, JioTag can also be used to find misplaced smartphones. Even if the phone is in silent mode, a double-tap on the JioTag will trigger the phone to ring, making it convenient for users to locate their devices.

One of the key features of JioTag is the Jio Community Find functionality, which further enhances its tracking capabilities. In case a connected item is lost and cannot be found at the last disconnected location, users can mark their JioTag as lost through the JioThings application on their smartphones. The Community Find feature then utilizes the collective power of the Jio community to locate and report the position of the lost JioTag back to the owner’s handset.

The introduction of JioTag follows Reliance Jio’s strategy of expanding its product portfolio and offering innovative solutions to its customers. Alongside JioTag, the company has also launched JioDive, a virtual reality (VR) headset designed to provide immersive experiences for activities such as cricket viewing, movie-watching, and gaming.

Priced at Rs. 1,299, JioDive supports various apps, including JioCinema, YogaXR, Foton VR, and games like Snakes & Ladders, Crossbow Legends, and ChessAR. The headset is compatible with Android and iOS devices with screen sizes of up to 6.7 inches, requiring Gyroscope and accelerometer capabilities for optimal 360-degree viewing.
