American multinational tech giant Google is all set to launch the much-anticipated Google Pixel 8 smartphone series and Pixel Watch 2 in India on October 5, a day after its global debut on October 4 at the Made by Google event. Google will also unveil an updated Pixel Buds Pro at the event.

The California-based company confirmed the launch of the smartwatch and Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). While pricing and specification of the Google Pixel 8 series and Pixel Watch 2 are still under wrap, the devices will be made available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart.

Google Pixel 8 series rumoured specifications

An accidental slip by Google suggested that the company is sticking to the design language that was seen in last year’s Pixel 7 Pro. The device appears to flaunt a 6.70-inch touchscreen display, offering a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. It could further show off a Porcelain White color with a triple rear camera setup housed in a single pill-shaped island. The device is rumored to be powered by an octa-core Google Tensor processor and runs Android 14. The Pixel 8 series could come with a 4950mAh non-removable battery and support wireless charging, as well as proprietary fast charging. Furthermore, reports suggest that the Pixel 8 series could receive up to 5 years of OS updates. Interestingly, Google might be planning to make the Pixel 8 series eSIM-only devices in certain regions.

Google Pixel Watch 2 rumoured specifications

The Pixel Watch 2 is rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 series chipset. It is expected to run on Google’s Wear OS 4, ensuring seamless integration with Android smartphones. In terms of design, the latest smartwatch is likely to feature an aluminium body. The Pixel Watch 2 is also expected to come with an impressive battery life, lasting more than 24 hours on a single charge and with an always-on display (AOD) turned on. For those who love customization, the Pixel Watch 2 could offer four new watch faces namely Accessible, Arc, Bold Digital, and Analog Bold.
