Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on an update to increase the time limit to delete sent messages. The new feature will expand the time limit to a whopping 2 days and 12 hours from the present 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds time limit, according to the WABetaInfo report.
WhatsApp introduced the “delete for everyone feature” in 2017 with a fairly strict time limit of eight minutes. As per the report, the feature has been rolled out for only a few beta users, and in the coming weeks, it will be rolled out for some more beta users.

“The previous limit was 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds. We just tried to delete a message sent yesterday and it worked! We can also confirm that the new time limit is really 2 days and 12 hours, the same one that was planned during the development of the feature,” says WABetaInfo.
WhatsApp is also working on other new features that will allow a group admin the ability to delete any message in the group. Notedly, the messaging platform has yet not announced any official date to roll out this feature.
