Unboxed Magazine has not confirmed the authenticity of these images. Despite this uncertainty, these leaks align with the growing anticipation that Apple might indeed be making the transition to USB Type-C connections, opening up the possibility for enhanced accessory compatibility and faster data transfer speeds.
Interestingly, the leaked case images for the iPhone 15 Pro Max seem to corroborate rumors surrounding a novel feature. These images hint at the introduction of a new “Action” button, potentially replacing the iconic mute switch. If these rumors hold, this programmable button could be customized to execute specific tasks, launch shortcuts, and toggle accessibility features.
Regarding the charging and data transfer capabilities of the iPhone 15 series, reports suggest that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus might sport USB 2.0 standard connectors. In contrast, the higher-end iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max could feature USB 3.2 connectors, offering faster data transfer speeds. Apple’s potential move to limit data transfer and charging speeds on non-Made for iPhone (MFi) USB-C cables and accessories aims to maintain quality standards and ensure a seamless user experience.
While Apple has not confirmed these speculations, the company’s iPhone 15 event is anticipated to take place on September 12. If Apple adheres to its traditional timeline, pre-orders for the new iPhones might begin on September 15, with the devices hitting the market on September 22.
