Here’s an exciting bit of news for Pixel users! The Circle to Search feature is coming to the Google Pixel 7 series, that includes the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. This enables lightning-fast visual searches for the user by long pressing the Pixel home button or navigation bar and circle, highlight, scribble or tap what they see to get more information from Search.
Initially pioneered with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and later integrated into the Google Pixel 8 series, this innovative feature is now making its way to the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro with the latest Pixel Feature Drop, announced by the tech giant on Monday. Alongside this eagerly anticipated addition, Pixel phones also received the March Security update.
The expansion of Circle to Search was detailed in a post by Google, stating, “We recently announced Circle to Search, a new way to search anything on your Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. And soon, Circle to Search will be available on Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, so you can get more information from Search, without switching apps.” While the specific release date for this feature was not disclosed, it is anticipated to be available to all users in the coming weeks.
Circle to Search represents a significant advancement over Google Lens, providing users with a refined and streamlined search experience. By simply long-pressing the Pixel home button or navigation bar, users can activate the feature and effortlessly highlight any item on their screen to initiate a visual search. Moreover, users can tap on images, text, or videos to retrieve detailed information, enhancing their overall browsing experience.

In addition, Pixel phones are set to enhance the Call Screen feature, introducing a subtle yet effective ‘hello’ chip for situations where callers are unresponsive. With a simple tap, users can engage Google Assistant, prompting them to communicate. Moreover, the Assistant will courteously advise callers to remain on the line momentarily should the user be unable to answer promptly.
Furthermore, Pixel devices now boast seamless integration between the native camera and Instagram, enabling direct uploading of 10-bit HDR videos and Ultra HDR photos. This streamlined process eliminates the need to switch between apps, empowering users to capture and share stunning content without sacrificing quality, all within the Instagram platform.
