In a move that blends technology with career development, LinkedIn has announced the rollout of an AI-powered job coach tailored for its Premium subscribers. This innovative feature is designed to enhance the job-seeking process by providing personalized guidance and insights for users on the platform.
LinkedIn’s AI job coach aims to facilitate a more effective job search by analyzing individual profiles and suggesting how users can stand out to potential employers. The job coach will offer a tailored experience, helping users to identify whether they are well-suited for a specific role and what skills could bolster their chances of standing out.
This feature is part of a broader initiative by LinkedIn to integrate AI-driven tools into its services. Rohan Rajiv, a LinkedIn product manager, conveyed to Engadget the unique benefits of this tool, stating, “This is made possible by generative AI, but also the datasets that bring all of this together. It’s your profile, your connections, and all of this that essentially can help you move your job search forward.”
The AI job coach will deliver insights next to job listings, summarizing the main points of lengthy job descriptions and providing advice based on the user’s LinkedIn profile content. It will be able to pinpoint work experiences that could be highlighted in applications and suggest enhancements to LinkedIn profiles to make them more appealing to hiring managers.
Aside from job hunting, LinkedIn’s AI will also summarize and provide insights about the posts in subscribers’ feeds, augmenting the user experience for content consumption on the platform.
The company’s expansion into AI-powered features comes as LinkedIn’s user base reaches the 1 billion mark. These advancements in AI are a clear sign of LinkedIn’s strategic investment in technology to improve user experience and provide value-added services to its members.
Tomer Cohen, LinkedIn’s Chief Product Officer, expressed his vision in a blog post, highlighting the significant role AI will play on the platform: “Today marks the beginning of a new journey, one where the power of AI is your ally in every career question and decision.”
Currently, the AI job coach feature is in beta and available to a select group of LinkedIn Premium subscribers. While the company has not revealed an extensive rollout plan, it has indicated a strong intention to center AI in its future offerings, signaling an evolving approach that may shape the future of digital job searching and professional networking.
