Motorola launched the Moto Edge 50 Pro 5G, a smartphone aiming to deliver flagship-level features at a competitive price point. The Edge 50 Pro boasts a stunning display, a versatile camera system, and powerful performance, all wrapped in a sleek and water-resistant design. The phone was launched yesterday in Motorola’s live event that you can watch below, and the handset will be live on sale starring from April 9th from 12PM on Flipkart. This midranger is a successor to last year’s Moto Edge 40 Pro.

The Moto Edge 50 Pro features a large 6.7-inch Super HD pOLED display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. This display delivers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and exceptional clarity, making it ideal for gaming, watching videos, and everyday use. With a peak brightness of 2000 nits, readability outdoors shouldn’t be an issue. Notably, the Edge 50 Pro’s display is the world’s first Pantone-validated display for accurate colours.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, built on a 4nm process for efficient performance. Users can choose between 8GB or 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB of storage. The RAM is also expandable via vRAM (virtual RAM). Furthermore, the handset is backed by Moto AI, a set of AI tools that include enhancing both photo and video capabilities, The AI Photo Enhancement Engine automatically analyses and optimises photos for detail, clarity, colour, and background blur (bokeh) for consistently professional-looking results.
A unique feature is Style Sync, which uses generative AI to create a set of four wallpaper options based on the user’s outfit, allowing for a personalised touch. Moto AI also offers additional features like AI Adaptive Stabilization to reduce shakiness in videos, and potentially more depending on the specific model. The phone runs on the latest Android 14 operating system with Moto’s clean and smooth MyUX skin. The company also promises 3 years of OS upgrades for the device.
This Motorola handset boasts a versatile triple-camera system on the rear. The main sensor is a 50 MP f/1.4 wide-angle lens with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), multi-directional PDAF with Laser Auto Focus. Additionally, the phone gets a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom while a 13 MP ultra-wide sensor completes the setup. The Moto Edge 50 Pro comes in three colors: Luxe Lavender, Black Beauty, and Moonlight Pearl. It has two versions with different RAM and storage options. The base version (8GB+256GB) is priced at Rs. 31,999, while the higher-end version (12GB+256GB) is priced at Rs. 35,999. The base version comes with a 68W charger, while the higher-end version comes with a faster 125W charger. The device will be live on sale from April 9th on 12PM.
