Nothing Ear, Ear (a) launching April 18

Nothing is also ditching its naming scheme consisting of numbers.

London-based consumer tech company Nothing set to unveil two new additions to their audio lineup: the Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) on April 18th. While details are scarce, the earbuds promise to be the culmination of three years of design and innovation from the tech brand.

“2024 is the year we’re unveiling the ultimate iteration of Nothing Audio with two new products that reflect the culmination of three years of design and innovation,” the company said in a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Additionally the company is ditching its naming scheme consisting of numbers, potentially making things a bit confusing for future iterations. However, Nothing says this approach keeps the focus on the product itself and the unique experience it delivers. “We’ve reset our naming strategy, stripping back the numbers to center the focus around the product and the unique experience it delivers for each user,” it added.

What to Expect from the New Nothing Ears

Nothing Ear: This is likely the premium option, and a successor of the Nothing Ear (2). The device will potentially sport a design similar to the Nothing Ear (2) with a stalk and possibly boasting improved audio drivers and battery life.

Nothing Ear (a): This newcomer might be a more affordable option, similar to the recently launched Nothing Phone (a) smartphone, the third smartphone from the company.

To recap, Nothing Ear (2) is a transparent, lightweight wireless pair of earbuds, equipped with an 11.6 mm dynamic driver. The earbuds come with ANC of up to 40 dB along with bettered battery life of up to 36 hours with the case and 6.3 hours with buds only. The device is available in black and white color options and are priced at Rs 9,999 in India.
