UK-based consumer electronics manufacturer Nothing, has officially announced the launch of its brand new smartphone titled as the Nothing Phone (2a). The announcement of the company’s third smartphone rose amidst several leaks about the device. The brand, led by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is yet to reveal details about the device. The Phone 2a is expected to debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2024.
Furthermore, few leaked images of the Nothing Phone 2a surfaced online alongside its rumored specifications. The leaks showed “hands-on” images of a black version of the Phone 2a. The smartphone is codenamed as “Aerodactyl” (as seen on Carl Pei’s twitter post with the Pokémon character) and is confirmed to share some features from the Nothing’s Phone 2.

Nothing Phone (2a) Specifications
After a close look at the leaked images, the phone is seen in a black shade covered with a privacy cover that hides the glyph interface. Design-wise the Nothing Phone (2a) differs completely from its predecessors without any similarities. Furthermore, it also features a hole-punch cutout for the front camera. Looking at the back, we can see two rear-facing cameras are placed towards the center of the back panel, horizontally.
Apart from looks, the phone (2a) is expected to feature a 6.7 inch AMOLED display with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz . The much awaited midranger equips a dual camera setup at the back that is said to feature one 50-megapixel Samsung GN9 sensor and a 50-megapixel JN1 camera. Additionally, it may feature a 32 Megapixel selfie camera in the front.
Performance wise, the Nothing Phone (2a) is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC chipset coupled with a 4920 mAh battery and is expected to be launched in two storage variants. The 8GB/128GB and the 12GB/256GB variant. The phone is set to be launched in two shades, Black and White (similar to the Phone (1) and Phone (2)). As for the launch date, we can expect Nothing to the announce the Phone (2a) during the WMC Barcelona 2024 event that takes place from 26th February to 29th February 2024. The pricing of the devices remains unknown but speculations suggest that it would cost about Rs 35,000 in India and would cost $400 or €400, globally.
