Nothing Phone 3 to possibly debut at MWC

Nothing could unveil its latest smartphone, the Phone 3, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona in February next year

Nothing Phone 3 could arrive at MWC

The highly anticipated successor to the Nothing Phone 2 might make its debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February 2024. Nothing, led by Carl Pei, has announced an event during MWC, raising expectations for a significant product unveiling. This move follows Nothing’s tradition of using MWC as a platform for major smartphone announcements, with previous teasers and confirmations for Phone 1 and Phone 2.

The media invite from Nothing revealed that the event, titled ‘Nothing to See,’ is scheduled for February 27, coinciding with the MWC 2024 dates in Barcelona, from February 26 to February 29. While the invitation humorously suggests “Nothing to see,” it hints at “something special,” indicating a potentially significant product launch.

The Nothing Phone 3, although not explicitly mentioned in the invite, is a strong contender for the spotlight at the event. This aligns with Nothing’s established pattern of leveraging MWC for smartphone-related announcements. In 2022, Carl Pei showcased a prototype of the Nothing Phone 1 at MWC, and in 2023, the Snapdragon 8-series processor for Phone 2 was confirmed during the same event.

Recently, a Nothing smartphone with the model number A142 appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, likely featuring a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and a mid-range Snapdragon or MediaTek Dimensity chipset.

As of now, Nothing’s smartphone portfolio includes the Nothing Phone 1 and Nothing Phone 2. The latter, launched in July this year, features a starting price of Rs. 44,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and boasts a revised Glyph Interface with LED lighting.

The Nothing Phones along with the brand’s earphones with a similar transparent design aesthetic make up the young consumer tech brand’s product portfolio. Recently, Nothing has dabbled in the low cost accessories space with the newly launched CMF brand.
