A phone with about 4 years of continued software updates has launched in India today, and no its not an expensive flagship or a premium mid-ranger. Yes, you heard that right. South-Korean tech giant Samsung, launched the Samsung Galaxy F15 5G in India today, and it seems to throw a challenge at other smartphones in its price segment.
Samsung Galaxy F15 5G specifications
While most of the features are yet to be disclosed, Samsung announced the major highlights for the Galaxy F15 5G. It features a 6.5-inch super AMOLED display upto 90Hz of refresh rate. In terms of performance, the device is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery (like the F14 5G) that lasts upto 2 days on a single charge according to Samsung.
Along with this the Galaxy F15 boasts of a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset that was seen previously on the Galaxy A15 5G and Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C 5G. However, the main highlight for this device lies in its four years of Android updates, and five years of security updates, as announced by the company.
In terms of camera capabilities, the device features a triple camera setup unlike its predecessor, the F14 5G that featured a dual camera setup. The F15 5G consists primarily of one 50 MP sensor accompanied by a 5 MP sensor and a 2 MP sensor. Along with this, it features a front facing camera of 13 MP. Additionally, the device gets a “Voice Focus” noise cancellation feature for calls, that enhances call quality by cancelling out background noise.
Moreover, the device is primed for the future with its 5G compatibility and boasts modern conveniences such as a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Galaxy F15 5G will be available in two storage variants, 4GB RAM + 128GB and 6GB RAM + 128GB. Notably, its internal storage can be expanded up to 1TB
Samsung Galaxy F15 5G Price
The Samsung Galaxy F15 5G, launched at 12 noon today, will be available in three color variants, Jazzy Green, Ash Black and Groovy Violet. The vanilla 4GB+128GB variant is expected to start from Rs. 12,999 as seen on Flipkart while the 6GB+128GB variant may be priced at Rs 14,999.
