Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event could be on July 10: What to expect?

South Korean multinational tech giant Samsung is planning its next major hardware unveiling event Galaxy Unpacked for July 10th, as reported by The Chosun Daily. This year, the event is expected to take place in Paris, France, coinciding with the 2024 Olympics where Samsung holds a major sponsorship.

The star of the show is likely to be Samsung’s next generation of foldable smartphones – the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Both phones are rumored to be thinner than their predecessors and may boast new features powered by generative AI technology. There is also a chance of special Paris Olympics editions, continuing Samsung’s tradition of releasing commemorative editions alongside major events.

Another highlight could be the official launch of the Galaxy Ring, a smart wearable first teased earlier this year alongside the Galaxy S24 series and showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. The Galaxy Ring is expected to offer features like sleep tracking, heart-rate monitoring, and health goal tracking. Reports suggest it might launch at around $300 with an optional monthly subscription service.

Furthermore, Samsung might unveil other accessories like the Galaxy Watch 7 series, including a flagship Watch 7 Ultra, and potentially new Galaxy Buds 3 Pro.

Beyond these headline grabbers, it important to note that Samsung faces growing competition in the foldable phone market. While they were once the dominant player, brands like OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, and Honor are all jumping on the foldable bandwagon. This competition is likely to push Samsung to keep innovating and expanding its foldable lineup to stay ahead.

With the bi-annual Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event just around the corner, we can expect more details about these upcoming devices in the coming weeks. Samsung hosted the first Unpacked event of 2024 in January in San Jose where it unveiled the much-anticipated Galaxy S24 series claimed to be an “open gateway for secure and meaningful AI experiences.”
