Popular project management tool Basecamp has reduced its pricing plans for new users in India. The company’s co-founder and chief executive officer Jason Fried announced that the basic plan of Basecamp starts at Rs 300 per month per user.
“Live in India? Run a small business? Good news: Basecamp’s now offering reduced pricing for new Indian small biz customers starting at just ₹300/user per month. That’s a significant discount off the price in US Dollars that we offer globally,” Fried said on Twitter on Tuesday.
As previously mentioned, Basecamp’s basic plan which is ideal for freelancers, startups, or smaller teams starts at Rs 300 for new users. The pricing is significantly lower than its global pricing of $15 or Rs 1,200. This plan comes with 500 GB of storage for files and documents, and offers features such as unlimited projects, free invitations for guests, etc.
Another plan offered by the company is Pro Unlimited which suits well to growing businesses, larger groups, and companies and is priced at Rs 4,800/month, billed annually. Global pricing of Basecamp Pro Unlimited is $399, or Rs 33,000. The company gives customers the option to pay on a month-to-month basis for Rs 5,650, as against the global pricing of $349, or Rs 29,000. This plan comes with 5TB storage, a 1:1 onboarding tour with the company’s team, first-in-line 24/7/365 priority support, and more.
The reduced pricing follows “significant demand” from various users in the country including very small businesses, freelancers, etc. who could not afford the tool, Basecamp’s Fried told TechCrunch.
