The pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S9 series have already begun, and the trio will be available for purchase starting from August 11.
Samsung has launched its highly anticipated Galaxy Tab S9 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Seol today. The trio of flagship tablets includes the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra which boast cutting-edge features and top-of-the-line specifications, making them a compelling option for tech enthusiasts and productivity-driven users.
Specifications
The Galaxy Tab S9 series features a sleek design, and all three models sport AMOLED displays and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The Galaxy S9 tablet comes with an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, the S9+ tablet features a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, and the S9 Ultra tablet boasts a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The Galaxy Tab S9 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, providing robust performance for seamless multitasking and gaming. The new tablets run on the latest Android 13 operating system, coupled with Samsung’s One UI 5.1 skin.
In terms of memory and storage, the latest Tab 9 comes in two configurations: 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Galaxy S9+ comes with 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB RAM and internal storage options. Users can choose from three variants of the S9 Ultra: 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. Additionally, the tablets offer expandable storage support of up to 1TB via microSD cards.
Talking about camera, the latest Tab S9 series boasts impressive camera capabilities. The standard S9 tablet features a 13MP autofocus rear camera and a 12MP ultra-wide front camera for selfies and video calls. The Galaxy Tab S9+ and S9 Ultra offer the same 13 MP autofocus + 8MP ultra-wide rear camera. However, the front camera of the S9+ is 12MP ultra-wide and that of the S9 Ultra is 12MP + 12 MP ultra-wide. The trio features 20% larger Quad Stereo Speakers with sound by AKG speaker system and Dolby Atmos for immersive audio and in turn, enhancing the entertainment experience. Users can customize sound settings for gaming, listening to music, taking video calls, and more.
The easily adjustable Book Cover Keyboard and DeX Mode, which has an easy-to-follow cursor, flexible window resizing and positioning, and Second Screen1 capabilities to mirror or extend the PC screen to a tablet, help simulate a desktop experience on the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
In terms of battery, the basic Galaxy S9 tablet is equipped with an 8,400mAh battery, while Galaxy S9+ and Galaxy S9 Ultra feature 10,090mAh battery and 11,200mAh battery respectively. The Galaxy Tab S9 series is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance. And just like the tablets, the S Pen is also IP68 water and dust-resistant. The S Pen is said to come with improved tip sensitivity for less accidental clicks and new bidirectional charging ensures it gets power no matter which way it faces when in its cradle. It can write in search bars, browsers, and app stores.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series comes with a starting price of $799 in the U.S. for the base model of the Galaxy Tab S9. The Galaxy Tab S9+ starts at $999, while the top-of-the-line Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is priced at $1,199. The series comes in two color options: Beige and Graphite. The pre-orders for the tablets have already begun, and they will be available for purchase starting from August 11.
