Spotify may rebrand Anchor to Spotify Creator Studio, report says

Presently, podcasters can access analytics about their shows on Spotify regardless of whether they host with other services.

Swedish music streaming platform Spotify is considering doing away with its Anchor brand and rebranding it to Spotify Creator Studio, according to a report by TechCrunch. The news of a possible rebrand was shared via a survey sent to some podcasters who have claimed their show on Spotify for Podcasters, the report added.

“Anchor and Spotify for Podcasters are now Spotify Creator Studio, the all-in-one platform for creators of all kinds (and sizes) to express themselves and find success on Spotify,” the report noted on the sample announcement in the survey.

Presently, podcasters can access analytics about their shows on Spotify regardless of whether they host with other services. However, “if the proposed rebrand from the survey were to go through, Spotify for Podcasters would be rebranded to “Spotify Creator Studio – Unhosted.” Anchor would be rebranded to “Spotify Creator Studio – Hosted.” Both products would remain free.”

Though the survey exhibits the company’s interest in rebranding, it does not necessarily materialize, the report added.

Elsewhere, the streaming platform last month announced an update to its Anchor app that will help creators record clear audio even in a noisy background. For this purpose, the music and podcast streaming platform rolled out a dedicated ‘Enhance’ button for voice isolation in its Anchor app.
