Spotify updates Anchor app with audio enhancement feature for podcasters

Before Spotify, Google Meet and Zoom have also introduced similar voice isolation features.

Spotify has announced an update to its Anchor app that will help creators record clear audio even in a noisy background. For this purpose, the music and podcast streaming platform rolled out a dedicated ‘Enhance’ button for voice isolation in its Anchor app.

“A single tap can automatically reduce background noise while leveling your voice and bringing it to the forefront. The result is better-sounding audio, even if it was recorded in a loud coffee shop, on the subway, or with babies crying in the background,” Spotify said in a blog. “With Audio Enhancement, the world is your studio.”

For a euphonious-sounding podcast, record audio on the Anchor app and tap ‘Enhance’ to minimize background noise. The Spotify-owned app lets creators toggle the magic wand icon at the corner of the screen as required. The free-of-cost feature is available on iOS and Android devices to all Anchor creators across the globe.

Previously, video calling platforms Google Meet and Zoom have also used AI and introduced similar voice isolation features. The feature is useful for taking meetings in crowded places, especially in a work-from-home setup.
