Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee have collaborated with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi to develop the SwasthGarbh mobile app. As the name suggests, the app is said to provide antenatal care and real-time medical support to pregnant women.

“SwasthGarbh (Safe Pregnancy) is a multi-functional Mobile Application for the assistance of pregnant women regarding all the ANC (antenatal care) visits and to keep a record of every clinical test/parameter as well as get reminders for the next/missed ANC visit or medication,” according to app’s Play Store description.

“Furthermore, to provide assistance in case of any emergency, the App also displays a map highlighting all the nearby hospitals that can be reached in a short time,” it added.

SwasthGarbh, which is claimed to be the first pregnancy app to ever provide instant access to doctor’s advice and is clinically endorsed as well as credible, can be downloaded from Google Play Store. The app can be a vital tool in providing medical support to rural women who lack easy access to doctors.

The SwasthGarbh app provides a detailed graphic visualization of the systolic/diastolic BP and weight for an easy overview of all the data. And both patients and doctors get an automatic notification if any of the parameters cross the normal range. This aids the patient in taking timely medical assistance. Both patients and doctors can free of cost avail the benefits of the app.
