Samsung Galaxy M15 5G announced: Specs, Price and more

Samsung has introduced a new budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy M15, to its Galaxy M series. While it caters to those seeking a more affordable option, the M15 still packs a large display, a capable triple-camera system, and a long-lasting battery. The company will release the Samsung Galaxy M15 and the higher end Galaxy M55 5G on Friday April 5th 2024 at 12PM IST.

    Samsung Galaxy M15 specs

The Galaxy M15 features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This display delivers smooth visuals and responsiveness during everyday use, making scrolling and navigation feel fluid. Although not as high as the M55’s 120Hz, it provides a good balance between performance and battery life. Samsung also promises to give the device 4 generations of OS updates and up to 5 years of security maintenance updates.

The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, built on a 6nm process for efficient performance. Users can choose between configurations with 4GB and 6GB of RAM, paired with 128GB of storage, allowing users to find a configuration that meets their needs and budget.

The Galaxy M15 features a triple-camera system on the back. The main sensor is a 50MP wide-angle lens with autofocus, capturing decent photos in good lighting conditions. An additional 5MP ultrawide sensor allows you to capture wider scenes, while a 2MP macro sensor lets you take close-up shots. While not boasting the OIS or higher resolution of the M55’s cameras, it offers a functional setup for everyday use. The front-facing 13MP camera should handle selfies and video calls adequately.

The Galaxy M15 packs a massive 6000mAh battery, potentially offering extended use on a single charge. While the phone supports 25W fast charging, this is slower than the M55’s 45W, but should still provide a decent charging speed.

For security, the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, which some users may appreciate in an increasingly wireless world. Storage can be expanded further via a microSD card (uses shared SIM slot). The phone runs Android 14 with Samsung’s One UI 6 skin on top. The handset also features the Voice focus feature for voice isolation during calls.

Celestial Blue Blue Topaz and Stone Grey

The Samsung Galaxy M15 is expected to launch in Celestial Blue, Blue Topaz and Stone Grey color options. Specific pricing will vary by region, but it is expected to be a more affordable option compared to the M55, likely falling into the price range of Rs.13,499 for the 4GB + 128GB option and Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant.
