Maserati has taken the wraps off its first-ever electric convertible, the GranCabrio Folgore. This luxurious four-seater combines drop-top motoring with a powerful electric drivetrain, redefining the open-air performance experience.
Maserati GranCabrio Folgore features
The GranCabrio Folgore boasts a tri-motor setup, similar to its GranTurismo Folgore sibling. Three permanent magnet radial motors, each generating 300 kW, provide all-wheel drive and exceptional performance. With MaxBoost engaged, the combined output reaches a staggering 610 kW (818 hp), propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 290 km/h.
A 92.5 kWh battery pack forms the heart of the electric drivetrain. However, only 83 kWh of the total capacity is usable, ensuring battery longevity. Maserati claims a WLTP range of 419-447 km on a single charge. The Folgore supports ultra-fast DC charging at 800V, recouping 20-80% in just 18 minutes. Additionally, the Folgore offers a 400V DC fast charging option and a 22 kW AC charger, providing flexibility for various charging scenarios.
The convertible retains the iconic design elements of its gasoline-powered counterpart, boasting sleek lines and a sculpted profile as the signature Maserati grille gets a closed-off treatment to reflect its electric nature. A retractable hardtop roof allows for open-air driving, while a wind deflector behind the rear seats ensures a comfortable experience even at high speeds.On the inside, the car features an Italian-made Sonus Faber sound system accompanied by the Maserati Connect infotainment system.

For now, there’s no word on when the GranCabrio Folgore is coming to India. Maserati’s current India line-up includes the Levante SUV, MC20 sportscar, Ghibli sedan, and Quattroporte sedan. The new Grecale SUV is scheduled to arrive this year, along with the GranTurismo in both petrol and electric form.
