Apple

Apple’s upcoming AR (augmented reality) and MR (mixed reality) headsets will come with health and wellness features, according to a recent Apple Insider report. Reportedly, the US tech giant’s MR headset will offer well-being features like exercise and meditation.

Apple has yet not announced the launch of its MR headset, but reports have stated that the company might launch the first device by this year. Apple is also working on software that will allow users to create their own AR applications on its MR headset in the future. iPhone maker hopes that the software will allow normal users to create AR app on the headset. The new app will be available on Apple’s App Store.

As per recent reports, much-awaited augmented-reality (AR) glasses will not be launched anytime soon, due to technical challenges. But, the company can still introduce a lower-cost version of the mixed-reality headset as early as 2024 or 2025, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. Earlier, the tech giant planned to release AR glasses after the release of the mixed-reality headset. However, that part of the plan is now on hold.

Reportedly, the tech giant may adopt a dual-device strategy for the upcoming headset, the trademark filings reveal. The documents show two devices with the names “Reality Pro” and “Reality One.” The Pro variant is expected to be the initial model, while the “One” suffix could be the cheaper version. As per the trademark, the dedicated chip will be called a “Reality Processor”.
