HTC has finally released its “metaverse” smartphone with its Viveverse compatibility which allows users to access virtual content from the Metaverse via the phone and a connected HTC VR headset. Viveverse is HTC’s own version of the Metaverse that was unveiled back in March of this year.
The device also comes along with a Viverse Wallet to help the user manage digital assets like cryptocurrencies and NFTs directly from the phone. Desire 22 Pro is an update to 2021’s Desire 21 Pro and is priced at £399 in the UK which will be available from August 1.

HTC Desire 22 Pro specifications
Desire 22 Pro is a mid-range smartphone with Snapdragon 695 SoC under the hood. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Talking about the display, the smartphone sports a 6.6-inch Full HD + LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The smartphone comes with a triple rear camera setup: 64 MP main, 13 MP ultrawide, and 5 MP depth-sensing back cameras, and the front camera carries a 32-megapixel shooter. It also has features like video stabilization, night mode, and 120 fps slow motion.
The device weighs 205 grams and has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. HTC Desire 22 Pro packs a 4520mAh battery that supports wireless charging and reverse charging for VIVE Flow or other devices.
Earlier this June, HTC took to Twitter announced the launch date of the latest smartphone.
In line with the company’s Web3 expansion, HTC has shifted its focus to VR gear production. HTC unveiled Viverse at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022.
Google purchased a substantial portion of HTC’s smartphone business for US$1.1 billion in 2017.
