Apple has finally introduced the new MacBook Pro and Mac mini. The upgraded laptops and desktops come with the company’s next-generation pro silicon processors and are powered by the new M2, M2 Pro, and M2 Max processors. Let’s know more about Apple’s first products of 2023.

    MacBook Pro

With the new MacBook Pro, Apple is promising the longest battery life ever in the Mac lineup. The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro features M2 Pro and M2 Max, the company’s next-generation pro silicon that brings even more power-efficient performance. Apple claims  that it will offer six times faster performance than its previous generations.

If we talk about looks, the new MacBook Pros look the same as the prior models. However, they now come with more powerful chips, replacing the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. Apple calls the M2 Max the world’s most powerful and efficient Pro laptop chip. The battery life on MacBook Pro is now up to 22 hours.

The New Macbook Pro model has improved on the connectivity front as it now supports Wi-Fi 6E. It also supports 8K displays through advanced HDMI. The M2 Max chipset can now be configured with up to 96GB of unified memory, which make heavy tasks like video editing smooth. MacBook Pro comes with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a Liquid Retina XDR display, and a six-speaker sound system.
The laptops are available for orders with availability beginning on January 24 at Rs 1,99,990 for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro chip while the 16-inch variant with M2 Pro costs Rs 2,49,990.

    Mac mini

Apple’s new Mac mini comes with the Pro version of the company’s processor. It comes in two variants: one with M2 chile and another with M2 Pro. The design hasn’t changed much from what the company offered with the Mac mini (2020), however, it has received a hardware overhaul.

The M2 chip has an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, through which, the new Mac mini can support up to 24GB of unified memory having 100GB/s of bandwidth. It has a maximum internal storage of 1TB. The M2 chip makes editing processes faster with ProRes acceleration.

Apple claims that it makes the complex time rendering in Final Cut Pro 9.8x faster than the last Intel-powered Mac mini. Mac mini supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 included. It has a is a Gigabit Ethernet port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI, two USB-A ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

This time, the Mac mini is coming with the M2 Pro chip that has up to a 10-core CPU, up to a 19-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. The M2 Pro promises support for up to 32GB of memory with 200GB/s of bandwidth, twice that of the M2. It has a maximum storage of 8TB. The Mac mini makes the gaming performance 15 times faster. It has the wireless connectivity as the M2 variant, however, with the M2 Pro-powered Mac mini, Apple has added two extra Thunderbolt 4 ports, apart from the others on the M2-powered variant.
