There seems to be a feathery good reason to celebrate as a new installment in the wildly popular Angry Birds movie franchise is officially in production! Yes, we will definitely see the return of our favorite feathered heroes, Red (voiced again by Jason Sudeikis) and Chuck (voiced again by Josh Gad), as they embark on a whole new adventure in The Angry Birds Movie 3. The film will be directed by John Rice (Angry Birds, Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe) and written by Thurop Van Orman (Angry Birds 2, Adventure Time, Flapjack).

This exciting news comes from a collaborative effort between Rovio Entertainment, SEGA, and Prime Focus Studios,with DNEG Animation joining the party as the animation partner. The team boasts some impressive credentials: John Cohen (Despicable Me, The Garfield Movie, Angry Birds) and Dan Chuba (The Mitchells vs. the Machines) are on board as producers, alongside returning design team members Jeanie Chang and Francesca Natale.

The Angry Birds franchise is a global phenomenon. The first movie soared to the top spot in 50 countries upon release in 2016, grossing over $350 million worldwide.
