Dell Technologies reportedly acquires Cloudify for $100 million

Dell has not made any official confirmation yet.

Dell Technologies has reportedly acquired Israel-based cloud services startup Cloudify. Reports suggest that the American tech major bought Cloudify, which is known for cloud orchestration and infrastructure automation, for nearly $100 million

According to a report by TechCrunch, the laptop maker had published documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission about “some of the share awards for Cloudify employees”. The move will help the company to innovate its edge offerings, sources told TechCrunch.

In a U.S. SEC filing, Dell said to issue its Class C common stock “in respect of certain outstanding and unvested options to acquire the ordinary shares of Cloudify Platform Ltd., an Israeli private liability company.”

Dell has not made any official confirmation yet. Value and other details of the acquisition are still unclear but the media report added that the deal is valued at up to $100 million or could be as low as $70 million.

Cloudify is an open-source, multi-cloud orchestration platform featuring unique technology that packages infrastructure, networking, and existing automation tools into certified blueprints, the company founded in 2016 wrote on its website. In 2017, Cloudify was spun out from GigaSpaces and has raised less than $8 million since then, according to PitchBook data.
