    Xiaomi 13 series to launch on December 1 in China: Here’s what we know so far

    Xiaomi 13 series will likely feature a triple-camera setup on the rear.

     

    Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of the much-rumored 13 series, which will include Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro models, on December 1 in China. The Chinese consumer tech giant will also unveil Watch S2 and Buds 4 the event in the home country at 7 pm China time (or 4:30 pm IST). Here is what we know so far:

     

    The smartphone series is confirmed to come with MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out-of-the-box. While the basic Xiaomi 13 is teased to have a flat display, the Pro variant is revealed with a curved display. The Xiaomi 13 smartphone is expected to feature a 6.2-inch 2K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, the pro variant will come with a 6.7-inch display.

     

    Both phones will feature a metal frame, customized high-end OLED direct screen, ultra-narrow bezels, and Leica-branded sensors. Unlike the predecessor Xiaomi 12 series which was rated IP53 rating for splash resistance, the 13 models are confirmed to be rated IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

     

    While more details are still unclear, rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 13 series is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The chip in the pro variant is tipped to be paired with 12GB RAM. The smartphone is expected to come in three internal storage variants: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

     

    In terms of cameras, the new series will likely feature a triple-camera setup on the rear. This includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 primary camera along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide shooter and a 50-megapixel telephoto unit. The selfie camera is expected to be 32-megapixel.

     

    In terms of battery, the Xiaomi 13 series is expected to house a 4,800mAh battery. The plain vanilla 13 variant will support 67W wired charging, while the pro model will likely offer 120W fast wired charging.
