Oppo Reno 8 series launches in India; Here’s all you need to know

Oppo has launched its Reno 8 series comprising of two models – the Reno8 and Reno8 Pro in India, months after it launched in China. The Reno 8 Pro debuted in China as the Reno 8 Pro+, whereas the Reno8 is an updated version of the China-specific model with the same name.

The Oppo Reno 8 will cost Rs 29,999 for the 8GB+128GB storage variant in India. The smartphone sports a 6.43-inch FHD AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a peak brightness of 800 nits with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Reno 8 is powered by the Dimensity 1300 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The Reno 8 Pro will be available for purchase from July 25 onwards.

Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro will be available in India from July 19, starting at ₹46,000 for the 8/256GB version. There is also a version with 12GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with a 6.7-inch FHD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The AMOLED panel on the Reno 8 Pro has HDR10+ certification. Talking about the chipset,  the smartphone is powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 8100-Max.

Coming to the camera, the Reno 8 series comes with three camera setups, a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, an 8MP IMX355 ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, both smartphones have a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor for selfies.

Both the smartphones run Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 out of the box. The two smartphones boast the same 4500mAh battery with support for 80W SuperVOOC charging. Oppo claims that the SuperVOOC charger can top up 50 per cent of battery in 11 minutes.

Other than this, Oppo has introduced its latest flagship Enco X2 TWS earphones with 11mm dynamic drivers and Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity alongside the Oppo Pad Air.
