OnePlus launched today the newest flagship smartphones the OnePlus 12 Series at their ‘Smooth Beyond Belief’ launch event in New Delhi, India. Alongside this, the Chinese tech major also unveiled the third generation of flagship wireless audio the OnePlus Buds 3, whilst also teasing a future OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition.
Oneplus 12 Specs:
As for the specifications of the new OnePlus 12, it features a new 2K 120Hz ProXDR display and a 6.82-inch quad-HD+ LTPO OLED screen that offers an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. This is a noticeable improvement from its predecessor OnePlus 11 which featured a screen size of 6.7 inches.
The phone features the latest smooth Android 14 UI based on the ColorOS 14 ROM in comparison to the OxygenOS user interface that was based on Android 13 in the OnePlus 11. Adding on to this, the new phone boasts of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a higher ROM of 512GB.
The 12 series are based on the proprietary Trinity Engine platform. All this is topped with the 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. Lastly, the device is powered by the triple-camera setup of a 50Megapixel Sony LYT-808 main camera with OIS, a 48Megapixel Sony IMX581 ultrawide camera, and a 64Megaixel OmniVision OV64B 3x telephoto with OIS. The icing on top is the rich 4th Gen Hasselblad Camera for Mobile, the similar Oneplus X Hasselblad collaboration as seen previously on Oneplus 11.
Oneplus 12R Specs:
Alongside the 12, OnePlus also introduced the vanilla OnePlus 12R. Looking at the specifications of the OnePlus 12R, the screen size is 6.78 inches, and has a bright and vibrant AMOLED display with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz. It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, an octa-core 4 nanometre tuned for optimum performance. It also features 16GB of the latest LPDDR5X RAM coupled with 256GB UFS 4.0 storage.
The OnePlus 12R smartphone also features a triple camera setup; a 50Megapixel Sony IMX890 Main camera with an 8MP ultrawide Sony IMX355 camera for wide angle possibilities followed by a 2Megapixel Macro Lens for sharp and detailed close-ups. Coming to the front camera, the device features a 16-megapixel front camera. The battery capacity of the plain vanilla model is 5500mAh, similar to the OnePlus 12. Both smartphones support up to 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging ports. Additionally, the front glass of the device is made of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the back glass from toughened Gorilla Glass 5.
Oneplus 12, OnePlus 12R Prices:
The OnePlus 12 is available in two storage variants. The base 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 64,999, while the higher 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at Rs 69,999. The devices come in Flowy Emerald green and Silky Black colors.
As for the OnePlus 12R, the base version with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at Rs 39,999. The 16GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 45,999. These devices come in two colors, namely the Iron Gray and the Cool Blue variants.
