The Rimac Nevera electric hypercar has been making waves in the automotive world with its astonishing performance and record-breaking capabilities, solidifying its position as the ultimate electric supercar

Rimac Nevera, an electric hypercar launched in 2021, has been making a thunderous impact in the world of supercars, living up to its name that stands for a sudden Mediterranean storm. Its stunning performance figures, including a mind-boggling 1,914 horsepower and the capability to go from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 1.85 seconds, have catapulted this all-electric marvel to the top of the EV charts, leaving its combustion engine competitors in the dust.

Recently, the Nevera surged past another significant milestone by smashing an astounding 23 performance records in a day, earning itself the crown of the “supreme record-shattering hypercar.” These performance tests were carried out at the renowned Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) facility in Germany, with third-party entities, Dewesoft and RaceLogic, independently confirming the results.

The Nevera’s remarkable feat was spearheaded by its performance in the 0-400-0km/h run, a definitive test of a hypercar’s straight line prowess, encompassing acceleration, aerodynamics, top speed, and braking. It accomplished the feat of accelerating from a standstill to 400km/h and back to zero in just 29.93 seconds, surpassing the previous record set by the Konigsegg Regera by over a second.

Further, the Nevera rewrote most of the existing acceleration records. It went from 0 to 200km/h in only 4.42 seconds, then to 300km/h in 9.22 seconds, and finally reached 400km/h in an extraordinary 21.31 seconds. Surprisingly, it outpaced even its own official acceleration time, clocking a staggering 1.81 seconds for 0-100km/h, thereby smashing 23 records in one day – a record feat in and of itself.

The underpinning of Nevera’s success is Rimac’s proprietary technology, which includes its aerodynamic design, powertrain, battery system, and software. The Nevera, crafted in Croatia, is powered by a massive 120kWh battery pack and four electric motors, one per wheel, generating an impressive 1.4MW of power. The car also boasts a state-of-the-art regenerative braking system, along with 390mm Brembo CCMR carbon-ceramic brake discs, and six-piston callipers.

Mate Rimac, the founder and CEO of the company, expressed his pride in the car’s achievements, saying, “I am proud to say that the car we’ve created can get to 400km/h and back to 0 in less time than it took the McLaren F1 to accelerate up to 350km/h. And not only that, but it can do it again and again, breaking every other performance record in the process. If you had a Nevera and access to a track, you could do it too.”

Only 150 of these phenomenal vehicles will be manufactured by Rimac. Therefore, for those interested in experiencing this incredible piece of machinery firsthand, time is of the essence. The cost, however, may be a deciding factor, as the Nevera is estimated to retail for a hefty €2m, a price some might consider fair for a car of such record-breaking capabilities.

In the meantime, for those of us for whom the Nevera remains a dream, a video capturing its record-shattering performance has been made available for your viewing pleasure:
